I think it's simple math. They make more money, the more members they have. I couldn't find much on the internet though, it's like the band died a long time ago, with all the members leaving. I mean not all...but almost half of the band is gone.
From what I've seen, they are all quite old for a girl group in kpop format. They look for 14 year olds and Irene still looks good, but overall they don't have the "young" traits, and this is what they all look for.
do you think they all will go individual? like joy irene and seulgi leaving sm too?
just in a rene bday vlog i heard she met hyeri too so may be now she will go in dramas side
and one question : do you think irene n joy are good with each other? lastly why i dont hear idols talking about irene much?
umm ik i am asking too much but i wana know 👀☺️🫣

based on her age, I doubt Irene would leave SM, she seems to be good taken care of.
The other two who left, maybe they felt, that they won't be able to advance more than they did, and seeking other paths, but...none of them are good in terms of solo. Irene is somehow more famous, but, on the other side, the hype around lisa AND jennie is unmatchable.
I think that the whole situation is a mess and that red velvet hasn't been existing/active in a long time, which basically is the answer to the problem.
SM has the possibilities to place their people in dramas/TV. it's part of the business.

I doubt, that there is a female group, where two members are really "good" with each other. They are in the end fighting for the same spot. It's different with male groups, because there you have one or two main guys, the rest...nobody gives a fuck, because all you need is one guy for the girls to go crazy about, and you have everything.

with girl groups is different, because they rely on more, than with boybands. Girls don't go as much as crazy over girl groups, as they do over guys.
Almost everyone in a girl group is pretty. You won't see a female version of Namjoon, or Hoseok, meaning also that it is a constant competition. It looks good on camera to be "best friends" , because at a young age, this is all we dream and hope - best friends forever with our best friend.
Behind doors, it's a constant competition of looks, who gets the best deal, best makeup, who it the prettiest, etc.
Being the most popular in a girl group, is much harder, than with boy groups.

No, I don't think the others will leave SM, they renewed their contracts and ....where would they go? Obviously in South Korea, if you want to do something, you have to be under one of the big labels.

I don’t think that any (famous) person in the entertainment world is clean/innocent/not guilty.
At some point, one does come in contact with grandpa touching your butt, people giving you drugs and alcohol, asking you to make donations to gay foundations and people, talking and promoting vaccines, the latest sexual perversity, etc.
You either quit, like I did, and refuse to be part of it, or you are as guilty as the rest.

The reality behind the “cute” faces and the shows on TV, is a horror story that the general public refuses to believe.

Apropos "contracts", I was answering to a question and I am going to post in here the answer, as so much goes around this subject. contracts. Renewal. Advantage. Responsibility. Running away from responsibility (new Jeans).
Some people jump into signing contracts, because of their desperation and obsession with "fame". Being "famous", having people screaming your name and those people don't deserve to be on the stage. You don't go on a stage, so that some obsessed fans scream your name, because they are in puberty and lack responsibility, parenting, and some acknowledge of the reality. Of their life.
People in this "pop" business who jump into signing contracts haven't had a career, don't know how it is to have to go to school, learn for the school, go practicing either ballet, music, composing, having a performance in the evening and then go to bed late at night only to wake up 4 hours later. This starting at very young ages.
People like me, no matter if famous or not, no matter what happened in my life or not, we have been exposed since young childhood to the reality of doing things we don't want to, but have to - interviews, meetings, greetings, smiling to all the big money, travelling without...travelling, alone in hotel, etc.
I used to have sometimes multiple performance in the same day, interviews, exam at school, not one second free time.
For me a contract like the ones circulating around in the media, or the ones people talke about, is nothing special.

Contracts aren't necessarily the problem. They aren't the "evil" of the sotyr. One also needs to either take the time and research on every aspect, or leave it up to a lawyer.
For someone unexperienced, they are scary. But the main issue is related to the environment, and not so much on the contract.
People need to take responsibility and to acknowledge the fact that you have to do for example a certain number of shows, recordings, interviews, etc. That you can't do drugs, drink, damage the public image. You can't talk shit about the company you are signing with, or make any kind of comments (haven't you noticed, how everyone in the business, even when they leave a label, or sue the label, still don't talk about it/them/label?
You can't just go in and say / I'd like to sing and I don't care about the rest. You ARE an investment. You get to take yourself advantage of the situation, or play it for you. Either learn it, or don't sign.
I myself was already famous, and had a lot of own material composed, where I owned the copyrights and it was one of the things I wasn't willing to give up, just for a promise of "we'll make you famous". As if...that's what matters.
Quality matters and nothing comes without compromise and sacrifice. But it's not the one, that the kpoopers are complaining about.
When I hear them all complaining about the same fake "suffering" and "working hard", while I know damn well, that this isn't true...I said this a while ago, it is always the people who have no idea what it means to "work", that are complaining about it, or saying "I worked real hard" ....BEYONCE.

Well - work smart, not hard, but at the same time, working hard ....hahahahaha...working hard is not enough.

This posting kind of overlaps with all 3 threads - entertainment, NewJeans and Irene/Red velvet, but what I can say is...the same as always - nobody forces anyone to do anything. It's your choice. It's THEIR choice. As you all know by now, I chose my work over some bullshit "fame" contract and money, while catering to the gays. There were times where I couldn't afford to eat, to take care of my wounds (feet, from dancing), to buy necessary tools to perform, etc.
I don't regret it.
I regret the fact, that more than the labels, and the people behind it, the responsible ones, founding the evil, are the fans and the people they are worshiping. It the general public would educate oneself, they wouldnt't be listening to the shit that they stream/buy/quote. Without the general public worshiping those idiots, we wouldn't have the evil splashed in our faces day and night.

Is anyone forcing the fans to purchase and worship beyonce, or bts? Despite the rape accusations and open relationships with CHILDREN, did anything happen with Rolling Stones members? Woody Allen? etc?
no.
Why?

Because the people allow it. Before we talk and blame the devil, maybe we should look around us.
